NovaTel Systems announces The Widget Tool

NovaTel announces the launch of the latest development in its product suite – The Widget Tool Box.

The Widget Tool Box uses the latest widget technologies to quickly deliver business and operational information across the enterprise.

The first five widgets to be launched are:

  • ASR Tracker
  • Volume Tracker
  • Capacity Tracker
  • Busy Hour Tracker
  • Routing Tracker


More are on the drawing board scheduled for release later in the year.

The Widget Tool Box is designed to provide quick and easy access to specific pieces of information for reference without the need to have the complete NovaTel Control Centre installed and functioning on the desktop. So the user who wishes to only see a single set of data can now easily do so.

The widgets have a similar look and feel so that they can be quickly referenced and the information easily read. As an example the ASR Tracker widget is shown below.



Installation is easy and simple. It can be executed with a few mouse clicks from either an Internet or Intranet site, allowing the user to be using the Tool Box in a matter of minutes.

Users can decide if they wish to use all the Widgets in the Tool Box, or just ones that are of most interest. Also the widgets monitor information in real time so if there is a change in the status of the data then the user will be notified. Users can then get on with their other tasks knowing that they will be altered to any changes.

The use of Widget technology means that the costs of disseminating information across the enterprise is now greatly reduced as the Widgets are supplied free of charge when the Control Centre application suite is purchased.

The Widget Tool Box will also form the basis of a new 'Lite' product that will be introduced later in the year. The 'Lite' product will be a low entry cost hosted Web 2.0 tool aimed at smaller operators that wish to have a mechanism for monitoring their network, though do not wish the costs of a large software implementation.
